The first two ‘sundroid’ workshops took place at Harehope Quarry on 16th & 17th June. We had two fabulous groups of year nine students being very good company and superbly creative. On Wednesday we were mob handed with Jamie Allen, Will Schrimshaw, Ko-Le Chen and Tom Schofield representing Culture Lab, Kamila Wajda from Bremen University, Steve Dales from Harehope Quarry and Tali Padan representing the finest traits of all human kind. We were also joined by Mark Henry and Ben Brownson from Museums Live. In the blue corner were students of Samuel Kings School in Alston, Cumbria and their technology teacher Peter Thwaites with Jenny the technician. On Thursday we were joined by Rachel Clarke from Culture Lab and Harehope Quarry – two hats are better than one. Jamie, Tali, Mark and Ben were unable to join us but we treated to the delightful company of year nine students from St.John’s School in Bishop Auckland. Two fantastic days of soldering in the sun. Many pictures will follow.
